The French brand of PMP, Archos, has launched a new cool gadgets generation of PMP, including the 5g is a 5-inch PMP with its own HSDPA module. Continental 3G iPhone decked with rubies and diamonds

Time and again iPhone has been a target of haute couture brands as they grab it to slap it with precious stones to elevate its exclusivity factor. Though the honor of the most expensive iPhone is bagged by Amosu Ultimo Diamond, it isn’t a 3G version.

But we do have a few blinged 3G iPhones like Gold & Diamond from Goldstriker, Diamond studded Olympic iPhone and the Diamond-Studded iPhone 3G by Knalihs Athem. The latter being the most expensive jeweled 3G version till date. Today we have one more company that is aiming to revive the union of gemstones with hyped 3G iPhone. Continental Mobiles, well known for its range of luxurious cell phones, has pimped the 3G, 16GB white luxury iPhone with Pigeon Blood Red rubies and white diamonds. Exclusively and intricately handcrafted, this piece of art comes from England for £3099 (about $5,550).

LG Lotus is fashion inspired

If you’re one who prefers form over function, I am pretty sure the LG Lotus cell phone will catch your eye. After all, this is one handset that is the result of a love affair between LG Electronics and fashion designer Christian Siriano. In case that name sounds rather familiar to some of you, that’s because Christian Siriano is the winner of season IV of the reality show known as Project Runway. LG Lotus will be available for preview at the New York City Fashion week from today onwards, aiming to elevate the humble cell phone as some sort of fashion accessory. I thought that place was already taken up by the iPhone 3G, so will this be the new king of the hill?

The LG Lotus is a Sprint exclusive, so those of you who want a piece of the action might have to jump ship if you’re currently attached to a different subscirber. The LG Lotus definitely makes a “distinctive fashion statement”, featuring a full QWERTY keyboard that comes in a clamshell form factor. It takes on a special square shape and will be available in a couple of colors - textured purple or satin black. This will also be one of the initial Sprint devices that boast One Click, a highly-customizable user interface that aims to make texting, Web access, email, Sprint Navigation, Sprint TV, Sprint Music Store and other features a whole lot easier to access.

Just in case you’re wondering whether the international design community thinks this is up to par to go against your thinking that the Lotus is but one man’s wild dream, it has already picked up the Red Dot Design Award, which coincidentally is one of the largest and most renowned design competitions in the world by virtue of the Lotus’ original form factor. Other features that complete this clamshell phone are a 2 megapixel camera with video recording capability, stereo Bluetooth connectivity, music playback with external controls and a microSD memory card slot that is able to handle up to 12GB of storage space. It will hit all Sprint retail channels this October.

I love it when companies get together to create a combined service, and being the Facebook addict that I am, I’m particularly excited about this. The new Vodafone Connect to Friends service will let you send texts and picture messages directly from Facebook. To get started, all you need to do is install the ‘Vodafone Connect to Friends’ application to your Facebook profile (don’t lie, I know you’ve got one) and you’re ready to arrange catch-ups with mates to your heart’s content.

This application is far more useful than all of those pointless quizzes that let you discover what kind of colour you are. Vodafone Connect to Friends allows users to send messages not only to their online Facebook friends but also to non-Facebook users and groups.

Fear not if you’re an Orange or O2 fan, this application can be used by anyone regardless of their choice of UK mobile operator. An added advantage of this service is that if you decide to head off to Mumbai, New York, or anywhere else in the world for a holiday, you can still text your mates from overseas at UK rates.

Once you subscribe, Vodafone provides a handy 25 free text credits to get you started. When you’ve run out of credit after arguing about which Pizza Express to meet at, you can top up again through their online payment system Pay4it.

VODAFONE PILOTS NEW MESSAGING APPLICATION ON FACEBOOK: VODAFONE CONNECT TO FRIENDS

Vodafone UK is trialling a unique service that enables all UK mobile users to send text messages from their Facebook profile to friends. The pilot service will be extended later this month to also include picture messages.

Vodafone Connect to Friends lets Facebook users send texts and picture messages without having to switch from PC to mobile simply by installing the ‘Vodafone Connect to Friends’ application to their Facebook profile. The application allows users to send messages not only to their online Facebook friends but also to non-Facebook users and groups. Vodafone Connect to Friends can be used by anyone regardless of their choice of UK mobile operator.

Once people subscribe, Vodafone provides 25 free text credits to get customers started. Further messaging credits can be bought securely via the online payment system Pay4it.

Prepay customers will get any additional credits deducted straight away from their topup accounts. Contract customers will see additional credits on their monthly bill highlighted as “Vodafone Connect to Friends.” An added advantage of this service is that travellers can also text their friends from overseas at UK rates.

“With more than 20 million social network users the UK alone it is the perfect market in which to test a Vodafone service that allows all mobile users to send texts and picture messages via the Facebook experience,” says Pieter Knook Vodafone Group Internet Services Director. “Through this partnership Vodafone aims to continue its commitment to provide easy access to communication services and communities by bringing the worlds of mobile and PC Internet together. Euroset continues expanding its Luxury-line, within which it has imported the most expensive handset costing 1 mln. euros to Russia. Thus, the Russians can now buy GoldVish Piece Unique put into the Guinness Book of Records. Only three people on the planet have such a handset.

GoldVish Luxury-handsets have come to Russia. Expanding its Luxury-line Euroset has received the exclusive right to sell the entire GoldVish model range in Russia. Currently the handsets are available in Euroset three shops in Moscow. In 2008 the retailer plans to open GoldVish boutique in Moscow.


GoldVish Switzerland handsets made of 18 carat gold (of pink, yellow and white colors) and decorated with diamonds of highest quality WS1 cost from 22 to 127 thousand euros. Besides, the Russians will have the opportunity to buy the most expensive handset put into the Guinness Book of Records. GoldVish Piece Unique costs 1 mln. euro. Commenting on possible demand for excessively expensive phones in Russia, he says that the Russian market might be compared to China, Abu Dhabi and Dubai. He says it is impossible to demonstrate GoldVish Piece Unique to the Russians, but they can easily order and acquire it in Euroset.
